The news is spreading fast about the unassuming carphone salesman from Wales who sang Nessun Dorma and brought the crowd to their feet winning Britains Got Talent. 1. The aria Nessun Dorma appears in the third act of Giacomo Puccini's opera Turandot (the T is silent). Nessun Dorma means Let No Man Sleep.

Puccini is known for his beautiful melodies. The libretto was written by Giuseppe Adami and Renato Simoni. Turandot was left unfinished when Puccini died, and was completed by Franco Alfano. Taken from a Persian folk tale and set in China, the opera was forbidden to be played in the People's Republic of China until 1998.

2. The last words of the aria are VINCERO, VINCERO ... I SHALL WIN, I SHALL WIN.

3. Nessun Dorma is the signature song of reknowned tenor Luciano Pavarotti ( ).
